5 Days Kenya Safari to Aberdare NP, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara NR

Tour Aberdare National Park with its steep ravines, waterfalls and peaks where forest dwelling, unusual animals and birds are found. Then descend into the Great Rift Valley to explore Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its spectacular bird life, frequent rhino sightings and tree-climbing lions. Next we travel to the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, the quintessential African landscape, home to an incredible abundance of wildlife.

Day 1

ARRIVAL AT JOMO KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (NBO)

Arrive at JKIA and be received by our office representatives who assist you in the clearing, loads your luggage into a van and drives you to a city hotel booked on a bed and breakfast. Depending on the time of arrival you can choose to get involved in optional activities in Nairobi such as a visit to Giraffe Center, David Sheldrick orphanage Karen Blixen Museum or a guided city walk or tour with a guide. Or choose to relax in your hotel awaiting safari the following day.

Day 2

NAIROBI - ABERDARE NP

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel/Nairobi Airport. Proceed to the Aberdare national park. lunch at Aberdare Country Club, located on a mountain slope in the scenic Great Rift Valley. After lunch we drive to the nearby The Ark Lodge where we will stay for tonight. Afternoon and evening spent game viewing from the balconies of your Tree lodge. The Aberdare national park is home to elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker.

Day 3

ABERDARE - LAKE NAKURU

Have breakfast,later proceed to the Lake Nakuru National Park.There shall be a stop to view the scenic Thompson Falls at Nyahururu. The drive via farming country and local homesteads via the Great Rift Valley escarpment floor is scenic. Afternoon bird watching and game viewing drive. Overnight at a Lake Nakuru Lodge located inside the park.

Day 4

LAKE NAKURU - MASAI MARA

Morning bird and game viewing drives and return to the lodge for breakfast. Depart for the Masai Mara game reserve with stops at scenic points along the safari route to arrive in time for lunch at your camp or lodge . Afternoon game viewing drive at the Mara.

Day 5

MASAI MARA FULL DAY

Explore Masai Mara in a full day game drive. Masai Mara Game reserve remains the most exciting wildlife eco-system in the Africa. It is host to the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals than any other wildlife park in the region. We shall traverse the Masai Mara reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing encountering the big five and more of the lesser game. Picnic lunch shall be by the Mara river as we watch hippos & crocodiles or maybe the great migration (July – October). On this day you can opt to go for optional Baloon Safaris (At an extra cost of $450 per person) or visit Masai Village at an extra cost of $25 PP). The activities needs to be booked by us so inform us during booking to facilitate bookings.

Day 6

MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

A pre-breakfast morning game viewing drive at the Masai mara.Return to hotel for breakfast and leave for Nairobi with lunch en route. Arrive Nairobi in the late afternoon. Drop off at hotel, resident or Airport
