Day 1: arrival

Upon your arrival in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Dushanbe

Your journey begins in Dushanbe, where you'll start your day by visiting the towering Independence Monument, commemorating Tajikistan's independence. Spend time exploring the lush Rudaki Park and its beautiful gardens before continuing on to the iconic Dushanbe Flagpole, one of the tallest in the world. Pay your respects at the Memorial to Tajik Writers and the Monument of Ismail Samani, a revered historical figure. End your day in the peaceful Cyrus the Great Park along the Varzob River before returning to your hotel in Dushanbe.

Day 3: Dushanbe to Khujand

The next morning, depart Dushanbe and make your way towards Khujand. Along the route, stop in the historic town of Istaravshan to visit the Mugh Hill archaeological site and the ancient Mugh Castle ruins. Wander through the charming Istaravshan Old Town, browsing the traditional craft workshops, and make additional stops at the Kok-Gumbaz Madrasa and the Mashadi Khazrati Shokh Mosque. Continue your drive to Khujand, check into your hotel, and spend the night in this vibrant city.

Day 4: Khujand City Tour

Your third day is dedicated to discovering the highlights of Khujand. Begin at the Khujand Fortress, a historic citadel that has stood for over 2,500 years. Admire the intricate tilework of the Shaikh Muslihiddin Mosque and get lost in the bustling Panjshanbe Bazaar, one of the largest markets in Central Asia. Visit the Statue of Lenin and the Somoni Park, dedicated to the founder of Tajikistan, before spending time relaxing in the Kamoli Khujandi Park along the Syr Darya River. Spend another night in Khujand.

Day 5: Khujand to Samarkand via Penjikent

On the final day, depart Khujand and drive to Penjikent. However, before exploring the city itself, take a detour to visit the Rudaki Tomb, located about 30 km southwest of Penjikent. The tomb is dedicated to the renowned Persian poet, Rudaki, and spending time here allows you to pay your respects to this literary giant. After your visit, return to Penjikent and delve into the city's rich history. Explore the well-preserved ruins of this 8th century settlement and visit the Rudaki Museum, which further celebrates the life and works of the poet. Continue your journey to Samarkand, crossing the Tajikistan-Uzbekistan border at the Jartepa/Sarazm border crossing. As the sun sets, arrive in the historic city of Samarkand.

Day 6: Samarkand - The Jewel of the Silk Road

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a scenic drive to the legendary city of Samarkand, a true gem along the ancient Silk Road. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax. After a satisfying lunch at a local restaurant, begin your exploration of this magnificent city. Visit the Museum of the Ancient City of Afrosiyab, where you can learn about the city's fascinating past. Next, marvel at the impressive Ulugbek Observatory, an architectural masterpiece built in the 15th century by the renowned astronomer and ruler, Ulugbek.

Day 7: Discovering the Wonders of Samarkand

Start your day with a visit to the majestic Registan Square, the heart of Samarkand. Admire the three imposing madrasahs (Islamic schools) that surround the square: Ulugbek Madrasah, Shir-Dor Madrasah, and Tilla-Kori Madrasah, each a testament to the city's architectural brilliance. Continue your exploration with a visit to the Bibi-Khonum Mosque, an awe-inspiring structure commissioned by Timur's favorite wife. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Siab Bazaar, where you can interact with friendly locals and browse the colorful stalls. In the afternoon, visit the Shahi-Zinda Architectural Complex, a collection of mausoleums and mosques dating back to the 9th-15th centuries. Day 8: Bukhara - The Holy City

After breakfast, depart for the holy city of Bukhara, another jewel of the Silk Road. Along the way, stop to admire the Ismail Samani Mausoleum, one of the architectural masterpieces of Bukhara. Upon arrival in Bukhara, check in to your hotel and enjoy a delightful lunch at a local restaurant. Begin your exploration of the city with a panoramic tour, including the impressive Ark Citadel and the Bolo Hauz Mosque, known for its intricate tilework.

Day 9: Uncovering the Secrets of Bukhara

Continue your discovery of Bukhara with a visit to the iconic Kalyan Minaret, a symbol of the city. Marvel at the Poi Kalyan Mosque and the Ulughbek and Abdullazizkan Madrasahs, each showcasing the city's architectural prowess. Day 11: Exploring Khiva – fight to Tashkent

Start your day with a visit to the Tash Hovli Architectural Complex, the summer residence of the last emirs of Bukhara. Admire the beautiful courtyards and elaborately decorated halls. Continue your journey to the Phalavan Mahmud Mausoleum, the Juma Mosque, and the Allikulikhan Madrasah. After a delightful lunch, enjoy free time to explore the charming streets of Khiva at your own pace, discovering hidden gems and interacting with the friendly locals. And late night the domestic flight to Tashkent.

Day 12: Exploring Historic Tashkent

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will embark on a guided tour of the ancient city of Tashkent, uncovering its rich history and cultural heritage. Your first stop is the impressive Khast Imam Complex, the spiritual heart of the capital. Marvel at the Muyi Mubarak Mosque and the Library, which houses one of the oldest Qurans in the world. Continue your journey to the vibrant Chorsu Oriental Market, where you can immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere and browse the stalls for unique souvenirs. After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, visit the modern side of Tashkent, including the grand Independence Square and Eternity, the poignant World War II Memorial, and the iconic Amir Temur Square.

Day 13: Departure

Get ready to begin your journey home. You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the Tashkent airport in time for your departure flight.
