Three (3) Days in and around Auckland

Today's journey will see us head southeast of the city. We will start by driving along Auckland's Waterfront on Tamaki Drive out to St Heliers Beach before we wind our way through the suburbs to the South Motorway. Twenty-five minutes south, we will exit the motorway and wind our way through the Hunua Rangers through the Arirumu to the Hunua Falls Region Park - a short walk to view the falls.

From here, we head down to Clevedon and join the Pohutukawa Coastal Drive, which takes us through the countryside and coastal drive. This then merges onto the Shorebird Coastal drive - across the Hauraki Plains to the township of Thames (lunch stop).

After lunch, we will continue along the Coromandel Coast Road for 40 minutes till we reach the Maniaia Saddle Lookout - spectacular views across the Firth of Thames - to the eastern end of the Auckland Harbour and out to the Hauraki Gulf. We then return along the coast road, cross the Hauraki Plains, and join SH1 back to the city.

Day 2| Country - Coastal. | Duration 9-10hours

Today's journey will see us head north of the city. We will start the day by crossing over the Harbour Bridge and driving north on the freeway before exiting at Matakana (55-minute drive).

Our first destination is the Matakana Sunday Farmers Market. Enjoy the local market atmosphere. Sculptureum Gardens and Art Galleries are located across the road, featuring a sculpture garden and three galleries that house a collection of over 800 pieces of “Pop Art” (private collection).

Day 3 | Auckand City streets & subrubs | Duration 8hours

This day will focus on exploring the city's inner-city areas.

A little bit of strolling - not too much.

Streets, Parks, architecture, and a seaside village for a late lunch - it's about seeing what makes Auckland a special city
