Kenya Highlights in 6 Days – Lakes, Geysers & Masai Mara Safari Experience

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru (Afternoon Game Drive)

Your private safari begins with a pick-up from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi by the Jossec Safaris team. After a short briefing, you'll drive through the scenic Rift Valley floor, arriving in Lake Nakuru in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive through Lake Nakuru National Park, home to white rhinos, buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, and flamingos. Keep your eyes open for leopards often found resting on the acacia trees.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Lake Bogoria (Full-Day Excursion)

After an early breakfast, head out to Lake Bogoria, known for its hot springs and steaming geysers. This is one of the best places to see flamingos in massive flocks along the shallow soda lake. Take time to walk near the hot springs (carefully!) and marvel at the geothermal activity in the area. Later in the day, return to Nakuru for overnight rest.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha (Boat Ride Optional)

After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, settle in and enjoy the peaceful environment. Later, you may opt to take a boat ride (at extra cost) across the freshwater lake where you’ll spot hippos and various bird species. You can also visit Crescent Island for a guided walking safari among giraffes, zebras, and antelopes.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara (Evening Game Drive)

Leave Naivasha after breakfast and journey to the legendary Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. After check-in, you’ll head out for an evening game drive to catch your first glimpses of Africa’s Big Five – lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos – and witness the magic of the savannah as the sun begins to set.

Day 5: Full Day in Masai Mara (Big Five Safari)

Spend the entire day exploring the Masai Mara on a full-day game drive with picnic lunch in the bush. This day gives you the best chance to witness thrilling wildlife action, from lion hunts to massive elephant herds. Between July and October, you may also witness the iconic wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River.

Day 6: Masai Mara – Nairobi

After an early breakfast, bid farewell to the wild and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
