3-Day Gombe NP Chimpanzee Trekking Safari In Tanzania

This 3-day tour takes you to Gombe National Park, where Jane Goodall conducted worldrenowned research on chimpanzees. Your adventure begins with a flight from Dar es Salaam to

Kigoma and a scenic boat ride to Gombe. Highlights include chimpanzee trekking, a hike to a

beautiful waterfall and kayaking on the clear waters of Lake Tanganyika. The tour includes

round-trip domestic flights, expert guides, all meals, luxury tented accommodations, park entry

fees and hotel transfers in Dar es Salaam.

DAY 1.

Domestic flight to Kigoma and Boat Transfer to Gombe National Park

Today, your journey begins with a 5:40 AM flight from Dar es Salaam Airport (Terminal 2) to Kigoma,

arriving at 7:40 AM. Upon arrival, you’ll meet our driver and transfer to Hilltop Hotel for breakfast. At

9:00 AM, depart on a scenic one-hour boat ride to Gombe National Park, where you’ll check in and relax

at your lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy lunch and leisure time—swim at the beach or simply unwind. At

3:00 PM, set out on a 30-minute guided hike to a beautiful waterfall, with the chance to spot primates along the way and take a refreshing swim. If you return early, you may opt for kayaking or enjoy a

stunning sunset over Lake Tanganyika. Dinner will be served between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, followed

by a relaxing evening at the lodge.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Trekking in Gombe National Park and Boat Ride to Kigoma City

At 7:00 AM, enjoy breakfast at your lodge before heading to the park headquarters for registration, where

you’ll be assigned a guide for your chimpanzee trekking experience. As you trek through the dense forest,

be prepared for steep slopes—hiking gear is strongly recommended. Your guide will share fascinating

insights about the famous chimpanzee community studied by Jane Goodall since 1960. Along the way,

you may also encounter other primates, birds, insects, and unique plant species. The trek typically lasts

between four and six hours, with a 100% chance of spotting chimpanzees. The park’s rugged ridges and

valleys offer a challenging but rewarding adventure. In the afternoon, return to your lodge for a short rest

and a delicious lunch before boarding a boat for the journey back to Kigoma town. Upon arrival, take

time to relax and enjoy the lodge facilities before dinner is served at 7:00 PM.

Day 3

Flight from Kigoma to Dar es Salaam

Wake up to a stunning view of Lake Tanganyika and enjoy breakfast at 6:00am. Afterward, our driver

will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Kigoma Airport for your 8:30am flight to Dar es

Salaam. Upon arrival at 10:40am, you will be met by our driver for a smooth transfer to your hotel in Dar

es Salaam, or the Airport or take A Bonus National Museum Tour at the National Museum of Tanzania.
