5-Day Ndutu Migration, Ngorongoro, Manyara & Tarangire
From late December to March, this seasonal safari explores the Ndutu area in Southern Serengeti, where thousands of wildebeest calves are born, drawing predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The journey also includes Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro Crater for diverse wildlife encounters. Begin with a full-day game drive in Lake Manyara, renowned for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, and lush groundwater forest home to baboons and blue monkeys. Continue to the Ndutu region to witness the great migration, predator-prey action, and breathtaking open plains. With fewer crowds, it’s an ideal escape for nature lovers and wildlife photographers alike.
DAY 1: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
You will be picked up and transferred to Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive and lunch.
Renowned for its tree-climbing lions and abundant elephant herds, Lake Manyara National Park welcomes visitors with its entrance nestled within a jungle-like groundwater forest. This lush habitat is inhabited by a significant population of olive baboons and blue monkeys. At a certain point during your game drive, consider stepping out of the safari Jeep for a refreshing break. The hippo pool presents an excellent opportunity to stretch your legs and observe these fascinating creatures up close. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: L. MANYARA TO SOURTHERN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK (NDUTU)
A game drive in the Serengeti Ndutu region offers a prime opportunity to witness the great migration. From December to March, vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles gather for calving season, attracting predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The area’s open plains and acacia woodlands provide excellent wildlife viewing and birdwatching, with off-road driving allowed for closer encounters. With fewer crowds than central Serengeti, the Ndutu region is ideal for spotting big cats and enjoying breathtaking landscapes. It is perfect for those seeking predator-prey action and stunning photographic opportunities. You will be picked up in the morning for the transfer game drive to Ndutu. After the lunch break, proceed with the afternoon game before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: FULL GAME DRIVE IN NDUTU AREA
You'll wake up to the sounds of nature and with a bit of luck, you may even see a group of elephants pass by your tent. After a delicious breakfast, today is all about an impressive game drive where you will thoroughly explore the Ndutu area. In the first months of the year, the calving season of the great migration takes place here. More than 1.5 million wildebeests migrate in a huge loop every year—a true spectacle! In the other months, you are likely to encounter giraffes, elands, elephants and hopefully some species of the six big cat species that reside here. At the end of the day, you will return to Sero Tented Camp for a delicious dinner and a good night's sleep.

DAY 4: NDUTU TO NGORONGORO CRATER
Be sure to wake up early today, so there is no delay on your descent into the famous Ngorongoro Crater. When you arrive at the edge of the crater and take in the amazing view of one of the Natural Wonders of the World, you´ll be surprised. The crater of this inactive volcano is approximately 3 million years old, 20sq km in size, and the largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world. Due to its natural borders, the wildlife in the crater is amazing. The crater is home to the Big Five and offers a good chance to spot the rare black rhino. Throw hyena, zebra, buffalo and elephants into the mix, and you have the perfect view for a pretty awesome safari experience. At the end of the afternoon, you will go to the lodge Lake Burunge , for a well-deserved night’s sleep.

DAY 5: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After a delicious breakfast, you'll depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its stunning baobab trees and large elephant herds. The scenic drive will take you through the beautiful landscapes of Tanzania, providing glimpses of local life along the way. Upon arrival at Tarangire, embark on an exciting game drive to explore the park's diverse habitats and wildlife. Keep your camera ready as you search for lions, leopards, giraffes, and more amidst the savannah and acacia woodlands. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the park's natural beauty before continuing your safari adventure.
In the afternoon, you'll have more opportunities to spot wildlife as you traverse Tarangire's expansive plains. As the day draws to a close, head back to Arusha or the airport.
