Detailed Plan

9:00 AM - Pickup and Scenic Drive

Your day begins with a private car picking you up from your hotel in Kathmandu. You will drive out of the busy city center. The roads will get quieter as you go. You will see green hills and small farms. You will head toward a small town known for its skilled artists. The air will feel cleaner as you get closer to the hills. The noise of the city will fade away. This short drive gets you ready for the calm day ahead.

10:00 AM - Welcome and Introduction

When you get to the workshop, you will be met with a hot cup of Nepali tea. Your guide will be there, and so will the main artist. They will give you a quick talk about bamboo crafts in Nepal. You will learn about the different kinds of bamboo. They will explain how the raw plant is prepared for weaving. This is a careful process of cutting the bamboo into thin strips. They will show you how they split and prepare the bamboo. You will see the tools they use. You will learn about how they use natural dyes to give the bamboo different colors. This first part of the day helps you see all the work that goes into the craft before you even begin.

10:30 AM - The Weaving Starts

This is where your creative journey begins. A master artist will teach you the basic steps of bamboo weaving. You will start with a simple base. You will slowly build the sides of your piece. You might make a small basket, a table mat, or a pen holder. The weaving process is calming. It is a slow, steady rhythm. You will feel a strong connection to the craft as your piece grows. The artist will be there to help you if you need it. They will show you with their hands how to weave. They are kind and patient teachers. The room will smell of fresh bamboo. You will hear the gentle sound of the strips being moved.

1:00 PM - A Taste of Nepal

You will take a break for a fresh, home-cooked Nepali lunch. You will eat dal bhat, which is lentils and rice. It will come with fresh vegetable curries. Sharing a meal with the artists is a good way to talk to them. You can ask them about their lives and their work. You can hear their stories. This part of the day is a chance to eat good food and meet new people. It is a nice break before you get back to your project. The food is simple and tasty. It is what local families eat every day.

2:00 PM - Making Your Craft Just Right

After lunch, you will go back to your weaving spot to finish your art. The artist will guide you through the more tricky parts. This includes making the top edge and adding final touches. This is your chance to make the design your own. You can change the pattern or how the edges look. You can add your own style to the piece. The artist will help you make sure it is strong and well-made. You will finish your item and it will look great. You will feel proud of what you have made.

4:00 PM - Farewell and Trip's End

With your finished art in your hands, it will be time to say goodbye to your new friends. You will not just leave with a nice item. You will leave with the memory of the people who taught you. You will know the story behind the craft. Your driver will be ready to take you back to your hotel. You will have a new skill and a new story to tell.
