Everest Base Camp Trek Heli Out to Lukla - 12 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m)

An airport representative will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. You will then be transferred to your hotel in a private vehicle. You can visit the office for a pre-trip meeting to get detailed information about the Everest Base Camp Heli Out Trek.

Day 2: Flight from Kathmandu (1400m) to Lukla (2840m), then Trek to Phakding (2610m)

Transfer to the domestic airport in Kathmandu for your flight to Lukla. Enjoy stunning sunrise views over snow-covered mountains during the flight. After arriving at Tenzing-Hillary Airport, begin the trek to Phakding. Overnight in Phakding.

Day 3: Trek from Phakding (2610m) to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

Trek through pine forests along the Dudh Koshi River, passing scenic views of Mount Thamserku. Cross Sagarmatha National Park checkpoint and the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers before ascending steeply to Namche Bazaar. Get your first views of Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (3440m)

Acclimatize in Namche Bazaar, the largest town in Khumbu with ATMs, cafés, restaurants, and shops. Take a short trek to a nearby viewpoint (Thame or Khunde) and visit the Tourist Visitor Center to learn about Sherpa culture, Everest climbers, and local flora and fauna.

Day 5: Trek from Namche Bazaar (3440m) to Deboche (3820m) via Tengboche (3860m)

Climb to enjoy distant views of Thamserku, Kusum Kangrib, and Kantega. Pass a ridge with panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Everest, Tawetse, and Nuptse. Descend towards Dudh Koshi River and Trashinga settlement, then ascend to Tengboche, marked by a stone gate and spectacular surroundings.

Day 6: Trek from Deboche (3820m) to Dingboche (4410m)

Start the day with views of Kangtega, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Taboche, Kwangde, Lhotse, and Nuptse. Descend to Imja Khola through rhododendron and birch forests, passing a Buddhist nunnery in Deboche. Continue through Pangboche and Orsho to reach Dingboche’s chilly, alpine environment.

Day 7: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche (4410m)

Take your second acclimatization day. Trek to nearby viewpoints or Chhukung for panoramic views of Island Peak, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Tawoche, and the Lhotse-Nuptse range.

Day 8: Trek from Dingboche (4410m) to Lhobuche (4910m)

Ascend Thugla Pass with a memorial stupa and prayer flags honoring climbers who died on Everest. Enjoy views of Tawache, Cholache, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Pumori, Nuptse, and Kusum Kangaru. From Lhobuche, see Kala Patthar, the Khumbu Glacier, Everest Base Camp, and surrounding moraines.

Day 9: Trek from Lhobuche (4910m) to Gorakshep (5140m) to Everest Base Camp (5364m) and back to Gorakshep

Trek to Gorakshep, drop off your belongings, and proceed to Everest Base Camp. Enjoy panoramic views of nearby peaks including Nuptse, Pumori, and the surrounding glaciers. Return to Gorakshep for overnight stay.

Day 10: Trek from Gorakshep (5140m) to Kala Patthar (5555m), then Helicopter to Lukla (2840m)

Early morning ascent to Kala Patthar for breathtaking sunrise views of Everest, Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse. Descend to Gorakshep, where a helicopter will fly you to Lukla—an unforgettable highlight of the trek.
