Itinerary
Day 1: Tarangire National Park
Depart early for Tarangire, famous for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Enjoy a full day of game viewing along the Tarangire River. Overnight at a budget campsite in mto wa mbu or Karatu.
Day 2: The Serengeti Plains
Travel toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Begin your afternoon game drive in search of the Big Five across the golden savannah.
Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
Sunrise game drive in the Serengeti to catch predators at their most active. After lunch, we head toward the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, offering spectacular views as we settle into our campsite for the night.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Floor
Descend 600 meters into the UNESCO World Heritage crater. This natural amphitheater hosts nearly every species of wildlife found in East Africa, including the rare black rhino. In the afternoon, we drive to Mto wa Mbu.
Day 5: Cycling Tour & Cultural Immersion
Swap the 4x4 for a bicycle! We’ll cycle through Mto wa Mbu village, exploring lush banana plantations and visiting Lake Manyara’s lakeshore. You’ll engage in cultural encounters with the locals to learn about their traditions before returning to Arusha.
