We leave Cotonou early for a full-day scenic drive. Watch the landscape shift to savannah and mountains. Enjoy a local lunch on the way. Arrive in Boukoumbé, the gateway to Tamberma country. Check in to your hotel. In the evening, breathe in the fresh air of the hills and get ready for adventure.

Day 2–3: Koutammakou – Land of the Tata Somba

Welcome to the home of the Batammariba people, also known as Tamberma, Somba or Tamba. For two days, live at the rhythm of the Taneka villages.

You’ll discover their famous fortress-houses: round, made of earth, with conical thatched roofs topped with clay pots. Each _tata_ tells a story of family, protection, and belief.

But the real magic is the people. You’ll share traditional dances with the _Yome_ and _Bètamaribè_ groups. This is no show for tourists — these proud communities have kept their authentic way of life, rituals, and smiles. You’ll leave with your heart full and your camera full of powerful memories.
