Aieta is a small village on a hill top, its name says it all: aetos was the Greek for eagle. Surrounded by luxurious Pollino National Park a a beautiful pine wood is one of the "most beautiful Borghi d'Italia - villages of Italy".
The visit start with a walk in the old town characterized by beautiful portals made by local artisans using local stone; you’ll be guided into the churches where frescoes and XVII century paintings are displayed. The main building is the Martirano Cosentino Palace: one of the most importat in south of Italy; situated in the middle of the old town it is impressive if compared to the little alleys and the typical buildings of the village.
