Kopački Rit, swampy area around the Danube and the Drave, is an example of unspoiled nature proclaimed the natural park, special zoological reserve and has been included in the list of European ornithological zones (IBA) and in 1993 on the list of Ramsar areas - the Convention on the Protection of Wetlands of International Importance. An ornithological reserve with about 300 species of birds, home to large herds of deer and other game (limited parts of it have become important hunting places).
