Deyrul Zafaran Monastry - Dara Ancient Ruins - Kasımıye Medrese - short walking tour in Mardin

Starts at 08:30 in the morning, the car picks up the guests from their hotels.

The 1st stop will be a panoramic viewpoint of Mardin, a very short stop to give a brief info about the city and take photos.

Then we will reach the Deyrul Zafaran Monastery which is 7 km far from the center. Since it is a live monastery the guests will be accepted by groups. This visit will take about 30-40 minutes.

Our next stop will be Dara Ruins which is on the same route as the monastery and 30 km far from the center. Dara is an old Roman military base as well as a quite large city surrounded by city walls. There we will have 3 visits, the necropolis, the water cistern, and the old Roman water channel system at the skirts of Dara ancient ruins.

Afterward, we will see the Kasimiye Medrese which is an old Islamic Education center which is located at the top point of the Mesopotamia plain.

Finally, we will arrive in the Mardin for a lunch break, lunch place would be optional to the preferences of the guests.

After lunch, we'll have a short walking tour of Mardin's old town and we will see some highlights in the old town. The ending time will be set up to the sunset time of the tour date.
