Cultural Tour: Ancon Hill Natural Reserve
Type: Guided walking tour + cultural interpretation.
Available daily: Monday to Sunday.
We will meet at Mi Pueblito Visitor Center.
This complex allows you to discover Panama’s cultural diversity through the replicas of traditional architecture and exhibitions representing Afro-Caribbean, Indigenous, and Interiorano (countryside) communities. You will learn about the symbols, customs, and stories that shape national identity.
Mi Pueblito is open daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM & entrance fee is 3.00 USD per person.
Next we will walk up to the Ancon Hill natural reserve summit surrounded by nature and unique panoramic views of the city and the Panama Canal, where we will meet the biggest Panamanian waving flag a powerful symbol of sovereignty.
Ancon Hill natural reserve is open daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Then we will descend to the other side of the hill to get closer to the Canal Administration Building where you will learn a bit more of the old frontier between the Canal Zone and Panama city existing there until 1999, and its significance in the country’s civic history.
The Administration Building is one of most iconic neoclassical buildings in Panama. Learn about its architectural features, its role in the transition from U.S. control to Panamanian administration, and when possible we will step inside to see amazing interior murals.
The Panama Canal Administration Builiding is open for visitor Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM & no fee for entry, reserved right of admission.
