Magic Montserrat

Montserrat is a mountain with the unique landscapes located about 50 km from Barcelona. Known as "Catalan Sinai" or "Mountain of Angels" it has been a site of pilgrimage for nearly a thousand years. A road winds up to the Benedictine monastery situated at 750 meters altitude. Thousands of pilgrims and tourists are attracted by the stunning scenery of this place, its mystical atmosphere and the miraculous image of the Black Madonna of Montserrat that is kept in the impressionable basilica. You'll have the possibility to touch it and to hear the children's choir - one of the oldest in Europe. Montserrat liqueurs, cheeses and sweets are well known in Catalonia, they sell them in the small market near the monastery. During the tour you will know the legend about the Black Virgin discovering and some details about actual monastic life, also you'll have time to climb even higher or use the funicular.
