Shandur Polo Festival , Gam of King

The culture of the Kalash people is unique and differs in many ways from the many contemporary Islamic ethnic groups surrounding them in the northwestern part of Pakistan. They are polytheists and nature plays a highly significant and spiritual role in their daily life. As part of their religious tradition, sacrifices are offered and festivals are held to give thanks for the abundant resources of their three valleys. Kalasha Desh (the three Kalash valleys) is made up of two distinct cultural areas, the valleys of Rumbur and Bumburet forming one, and Birir Valley the other; Birir Valley being the more traditional of the two

The three main festivals of the Kalash are the Chilam Joshi in the middle of May, the Utchal in autumn, and the Chaumos in midwinter.

All year these communities have many small cultural and religious event

Day 1 Islamabad- Chitral Bumburat the center Kalash Valley 1-2 Hours

Eerily in the morning, you will drive to the Airport to fly to Chitral. Lunch at the chital and after lunch, you will visit the police station for registration. After Registration visit the famous mosque of the city and the local market. Drive to Bumburat Valley. On arrival transfer to hotel. After lunch visit the village, and in the evening back to the hotel and enjoy local food with a local win. 6 to 8 Hours

Day 2

Festivals in Bumburat Valley You will stay in a local Kalash guest house in the village. So all day, you can experience the Kalasha lifestyle and culture], and enjoy visit local house, and foods, overnight stay in local guest house .

Day 3 Bumburat – Garamchma

Drive to Garmchasma. On arrival transfer to hotel. After a short break visit visit visit the shrine of Nazir Khusrow, who came from Afghanistan to this region to parch Ismailia Muslim. In the evening enjoy the hot spring hot spring water. Overnight in Hotel 7- 8 Hours

Day 4 Garamchma – Mustuj Valley. 6-8 Hours

Today you will drive back from Garamcham Valley to Chital and on the same day you will drive to Upper Chital Valley, where you will stay in the PTDC hotel, On the way you will enjoy a small town, rivers, and different kinds of Mountains. Overnight stay in Mustuj 7- 8 Hours

Day 6 19/5 Mustuj- shandure Polo - Phander 4-5 Hours

Today you will cross the border between two provinces; KPK and Gilgit Baltistan. You also visit the famous Polo Grand which is called Shandur (4500m).Every year in July more than 10 polo teams play polo. today you will attand the wildfree style polo final mach and the afternoon drive to Phander.After lunch on the top, you will drive to Phander which is a really impressive valley. You will stay in the local guest house hotel and enjoy the lovely evening. 6- 8 Hours

Day 7 Phander – Austor Rama

Eerily in the morning drive to Rama Astor. Lunch at Gilgit. On the way, you will see the second heights mountain Naga Parbat 8125m high. Lunch in Gilgit or Astor city and a short visit to the market and drive to Rama Lake, you will stay overnight in Wazir Guest House Rama.

Day 8 Rama Astor – Deosai Pass- Skardu

Today you will cross Deasia past the roof of the world. You need to keep lunch boxes with you, when you reach the top you will enjoy the cold water and the lovely view of Deosai plan. After a short rest, you will drive to Skardu. Before Skardu you will stop at Satpara Lake. On arrival, you will transfer to Shigar Serina 6- 7 Hours

Day 9th Skardu- Shigar Valley and Baldur Valley

After breakfast, you will drive to Baldur Valley and visit Baldur Fort. Visit the old village which is 900 years old. Then Drive to Braldu Valley. Drive back to Baldur town In the evening visit Skardu market. If possible visit Satpara Lake. Overnight in serina Shigar hotel. 4- 5 Hours

Day-10 Shigar – Khaplu

After breakfast drive to Khaplu, on the stop for pictures, on arrival transfer to the hotel. After lunch visit Mosque and village and community. Overnight stay at Khaplu Fort. 3- 4 Hours

Day 11 Khaplu- Skardu

Drive to Skardu, on arrival check in at your hotel, and after lunch visit Satpara Lake and back to explore Skardu City. Overnight in Hotel 4- 5 hours

Day 12 Skardu – Islamabad

Fly back to Islamabad End of the tour 3- 4 Hours
