The Museum is located at Museum Hill, facing University of Nairobi complex; it showcases Kenya's rich Heritage with four distinct themes representing: Kenya's Culture, Nature world, History + Contemporary Art based at the Gallery.

Other attractions within the compound include Snake Park, Botanical Gardens, and State of the Art Auditorium that occasionally hosts concerts, film shows and other events.
