3-Day Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Manyara Safari.
This tour offers a condensed yet comprehensive wildlife experience, highlighting three of Northern Tanzania's most famous national parks. You will explore a diverse range of ecosystems and have the chance to see a wide variety of animals, including the "Big Five.""
Day 1: Arrival & Tarangire National Park
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by your safari guide and begin your journey to Tarangire National Park. Known for its massive herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers a unique and memorable landscape. You will spend the day on a game drive, searching for elephants, giraffes, lions, and other wildlife that gather around the Tarangire River. In the late afternoon, you'll travel to your accommodation near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
After an early breakfast, you will descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a natural wonder of the world. The crater floor is a vibrant and self-contained ecosystem, supporting one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. You'll spend the day on a game drive, with a high chance of spotting the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino). Enjoy a picnic lunch by a hippo pool before ascending out of the crater in the late afternoon. You will return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park & Departure
On your final day, you will travel to Lake Manyara National Park. This park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and the vast flocks of flamingos that often line the shores of the soda lake. You will enjoy a final game drive, exploring the diverse habitats from lush forest to grassy plains. The park is home to a wide array of wildlife, including baboons, blue monkeys, and hippos. After your game drive, you will begin your journey back to the airport for your departure.
What to Expect & General Information:
Accommodation: This tour typically includes mid-range lodge or permanent tented camp stays, providing comfort and a chance to experience the sights and sounds of the bush.
Vehicles: You will travel in a private 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for optimal game viewing and photography.
Best Time to Go: The dry season, from June to October, is generally considered the best time for game viewing as animals are easier to spot when the vegetation is sparse and they congregate around water sources.
Packing: Pack light, comfortable clothing in neutral colors (khaki, brown, beige). Remember a light jacket or fleece for cool mornings and evenings, a hat, sunglasses, and insect repellent. Soft-sided luggage or duffel bags are highly recommended as they fit more easily into safari vehicles.
