A 2-day safari to Tarangire and Ngorongoro
Efficient option for travelers with limited time who still want to experience some of Tanzania's best wildlife destinations. This itinerary packs a lot into a short period, focusing on two distinct and spectacular parks.
Day 1: Tarangire National Park.
Your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha in the morning.
You will drive to Tarangire National Park, a journey of about 2-3 hours.
Tarangire is known for its massive elephant herds, which are particularly impressive during the dry season (June to October). The park's landscape is dotted with iconic baobab trees, creating a stunning backdrop for wildlife viewing.
You'll spend the day on a game drive, enjoying a picnic lunch in the park.
After a full day of exploring, you'll drive to your accommodation, which is often located near the Karatu area, for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater & Departure.
After an early breakfast, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
You will then descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This unique caldera is home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, including the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo)
You will spend the morning exploring the crater floor, with a picnic lunch by the hippo pool.
In the afternoon, you will ascend from the crater and begin the drive back to Arusha for your onward journey or a drop-off at your hotel.
