Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nepalgunj and Transfer to Bardia

Your trip starts with a nice 50-minute flight. You fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Nepalgunj is a busy city in the Terai plains. When you land, someone from our team will meet you. Then, you will drive for 2 to 3 hours. You go to your jungle lodge. It is just outside Bardia National Park. The view changes from city to country. You will see green fields and small towns along the way. After you check in, you can rest. Then, you will learn about the park and what you will do. A tasty dinner with local foods will follow.

Day 2: Full-Day Jeep Safari - The Hunt for the Tiger

This is the main day of your trip. You will eat breakfast early. Then, you get into a 4x4 safari jeep. An expert guide will be with you. You will explore the park all day. The jeep helps you go far. You will see thick sal forests. You will also see open grassy areas, called phatas. Animals gather near the riverbanks. Your guide will show you animal tracks. They will listen for warning sounds from deer and monkeys. They will take you to the best spots. Here, you can see tigers, rhinos, and elephants. You will eat a packed lunch. You will enjoy it at a nice spot inside the park. This full day in the jeep is the main part of your Bardia trip.

Day 3: Jungle Walk and Cultural Immersion

Walking in the jungle is a great way to feel close to nature. Two trained guides will go with you. This is for your safety. You will walk into the community forest. Or, you will go to a special part of the park. When you walk, you see small, amazing things. You might see strange insects. You will see colorful birds. You will also see small signs of animals moving around. It is a very exciting and close experience. In the afternoon, you will visit a Tharu village nearby. You can talk to the people there. You will learn about their special mud and clay houses. You will see how they live closely with the forest. The day often ends with a Tharu dance show at your lodge.

Day 4: Bird Watching and Departure

Bardia is a wonderful place for bird lovers. On your last morning, you will walk along the riverbanks. You will look for birds that live in the park. You might see the Bengal florican. You could also see the giant hornbill. Many kinds of kingfishers and eagles live here too. After a last breakfast at the lodge, you will drive back to Nepalgunj airport. You will take your flight to Kathmandu. You will have many good memories of Nepal's wild side.
