Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Sundarijal and Walk to Chisapani (2,165m)

Your trip starts with a nice one-hour drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal. This is where the walk begins. First, you clear papers at the Shivapuri National Park gate. The path then starts with stone steps next to a big water pipe. You will pass a calm water storage area and a power plant. After this, you enter the thick, quiet forest. The path has some uphill parts and some flat, easy parts. It takes you to the nice village of Mulkharka. From here, it is a last push to Chisapani. This name means "cold water." When you get there, settle into your guesthouse. Get ready for a great sunset over the Himalayas.

Day 2: Walk from Chisapani to Nagarkot (2,175m)

Wake up early to see a beautiful sunrise. After a filling breakfast, you start your walk to Nagarkot. Today's path is a lovely journey through thick forests of rhododendron and pine trees. There are fewer steep climbs than the day before. You will walk along a high path. You will see views of the mountains to your north from time to time. This part of the Chisapani Trek is very calm. After about 6-7 hours of walking, you will reach Nagarkot. This hill town is known for having one of the widest views of the Himalayas from one spot.

Day 3: Sunrise at Nagarkot, Walk to Changunarayan, and Drive to Kathmandu

Today is about seeing one of Nepal's most famous mountain sunrises. From the Nagarkot viewpoint, you can see a huge area of the Himalayas. This goes from Dhaulagiri in the west to Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga in the east. After this amazing sight, you will start a gentle walk downhill to Changunarayan. The path goes down through farm fields and small villages. Your walk ends at the old Changu Narayan Temple. This is a very old temple in Nepal. It is also a special place listed by a world group. After seeing this old treasure, you will take a short drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 4: Free Day to Explore (2025 Idea)

For travel in 2025, we suggest having a free day. This allows for more relaxed and flexible plans. You can use this day to see more of Bhaktapur or Kathmandu. You can also rest after the trek. This day can also help if there are any unexpected delays.
