SONG-KUL Lake ( Yurt Stay & Horse rides )
Song Kol (Song Kul) is a high-mountain alpine lake set at about 3,000 meters above sea level, surrounded by vast summer pastures and rolling green hills. Far from cities and roads, it offers travelers a rare chance to experience the authentic rhythm of Kyrgyz nomadic life, fresh mountain air, and spectacular open landscapes.
A yurt stay is the highlight of any visit. Guests sleep in traditional felt yurts decorated with colorful handmade carpets and enjoy warm hospitality from local shepherd families. Meals usually include national dishes such as beshbarmak, fresh bread, dairy products, and tea. Days can be spent horseback riding, hiking along the lakeshore, watching herds of horses, or simply relaxing in the peaceful silence of nature.
At night, the sky above Song Kol comes alive with brilliant stars, creating an unforgettable atmosphere and a true escape into the wild heart of Kyrgyzstan.
