Day 01:

Fly from Addis to Jinka

Your driver will meet you at the airport and then drive you to Jinka for lunch. After lunch, continue to Turmi. On the way, we will stop to visit the Dimeka market and a Hamar village. The Hamar are one of the most fascinating tribes in the Omo Valley. They are primarily pastoralists, breeding cattle, goats, and sheep. They have a similar veneration for cattle as their close neighbors and use clay to shape their hairstyles. During your two nights in Turmi, you may also have a chance to witness the unique practice of “bull-jumping,” which every young man must accomplish before marriage in order to be recognized as a man.

Day 02:

Turmi – Dassanech – Turmi

In the morning, after breakfast, we will drive to Omorate village to visit the Dassanech tribe. You will be led to a village located in a remote area of the Omo Valley on the bank of the Omo River. Noticing the very hot weather in this area, you will better understand the Dassanech's way of life. The Dassanech have adapted themselves to nature and to the changing weather conditions. At the right time of year, they hunt crocodiles, which are easy to find in this area. After spending enough time with the Dassanech tribe, we will return to Turmi.

Day 03:

Turmi – Karo – Jinka

In the morning, after breakfast, we will drive to visit the Karo tribe, who live along the Omo River. They are closely related to the Hamar tribe, but they have their own culture and language. They are famous for their body painting. After visiting the Karo tribe, we will drive back to Turmi for lunch, then continue to Jinka. On the way, we will stop to visit different villages of the Banna people, and the Key Afer market, one of the most colorful markets in the Omo Valley.

Overnight: Jinka Nasa Hotel.

Day 04:

Jinka – Mursi – Addis Ababa

In the morning, after breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel and drive to Mursi village through Mago National Park. The Mursi women wear circular clay plates on their lower lips and in their earlobes, and the men are known for stick fighting. After the visit, return to Jinka and fly to Addis Ababa.

Overnight: Addis Ababa Mets Hotel.
