Šibenik is a historic city in Croatia, located in central Dalmatia where the river Krka flows into the Adriatic Sea. Unlike other cities along the Adriatic coast, which were established in antiquity, Šibenik was founded by Croats in the middle ages.
The Sibenik - Knin county area stretches along the coast between Split and Zadar in length of 100 km in the hinterland it stretches to the heart of mountain Dinara. Sibenik is the political, economic, social and cultural center of Sibenik-Knin county. The archipelago of Sibenik - Knin county consists of 242 islands.
In the area are two National Parks NP Kornati and NP Krka.
Šibenik is a city of rich spiritual and material cultural heritage. The city attracts its monuments, culture, and natural beauty of its surrounding nature.
