The Wings of Tatev ropway is the longest cable car in the world (pendulum type, 5752 meters). It was built in 2010 at the initiative of Ruben Vardanyan and Veronika Zonabend. Inside the cabin there is an audio guide throughout the journey, which lasts 15 minutes and ends in the famous Tatev Monastery, which was built in 906 and for centuries has been the spiritual center of the Syunik region. In the 14th century, the famous university operated in the Monastery complex, which for many centuries was the only one in Eastern Armenia.
