Abbey of Peace...
Bellapais Abbey was set by Augustinian monks in 1198 who migrated to Cyprus from Jerusalem. Monastery is considered as the Masterpiece of French Gothic Style Architecture in Cyprus. Bellapais is a preserved village. "Tree of Idleness" is mentioned in the famous book of Lawrence Durrell "Bitter Lemons of Cyprus". That is the tree that you can still sit underneath and lazed around. Durrell lived in the village between 1953 and 1959.
Watching the sunset from Bellapais is a Romantic end of the beautiful day.
