A 5 hour experience led by a licensed local guide. This tour begins from the Petra visitors center and includes a 20-minute car drive to the back entrance into Petra located in the vicinity of Al Bayda. From there we will begin an hour walk & hike to the Monastery. With wild landscapes and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, you will feel as if you have Petra all to yourself. Once we reach the Monastery there are many Nabatean caves, tombs, and carvings to explore surrounding the monument. If you climb off the ground level, the views are breath-taking and gives an opportunity to take beautiful photos in the iconic cave door opposite the Monastery. The tour will then take us down where we may have buffet lunch at the Basin restaurant or a bite somewhere else. Afterwards we will be seeing Qaser Albent and enjoy the views overlooking the colonnaded street and the great temple.

Straight to over look the royal tombs and take photos and maybe enjoy a cup of beduins tea and then straight to the Thereafter which was carved into the side of the mountain at the foot of the High Place of Sacrifice, the theatre consists of three rows of seats separated by passageways. Seven stairways ascend the auditorium and it can accommodate 4000 spectators. the monument was carved in the mountainside during the reign of King Aretas IV (4BC- AD27) the Romans rebuilt the stage back wall.

We then setout toward the Treasury, or Al Khazna. It is almost 40 meters high and intricately decorated with Corinthian capitals, friezes, figures and more. The Treasury is crowned by a funerary urn, which according to local legend conceals a pharaoh’s treasure. Although the original function is still a mystery, The Treasury was probably constructed in the 1st century BC, However, in reality the urn represented a memorial for royalty. The Treasury consists of two floors with a width of 25.30 meters and a height of 39.1 meters.

We end our day walking to the visitor center through The Siq, which is the main road that leads to the city, starts from the Dam and ends at the Treasury. It is a rock canal that measures 12 meters in width and reaches up to 80 meters in height. The main part of the Siq is created by natural rock formation and the rest is carved by the Nabataeans.
