Mnemba island Snorkeling

Mnemba is a single small island located about 3km of the northeast coast. It is surrounded by an oval reef seven by four kilometer in length. These reefs have been declared a Marine conservation area. It has approximately 600 categories of coral reef fish. Dolphins, crabs, starfish, butterfly fish, lobsters, shrimps and so on are the most common species you can spot while snorkeling in Mnemba Island.

It is the most popular snorkeling place in Zanzibar. You can reach in Mnemba by boat, mainly from Nungwi beach and Muyuni landing place. It’s a 1 hour from Nungwi.

Mnemba is a private island with access restricted to guests of the sumptuous and beyond Mnemba Island. The boat will drop you off directly at the reef, which lies a few dozen meters from the small island.
