The Start of the Trip (Early Morning)
Your day begins early, before the sun comes up, as you prepare for this special journey. Kathmandu is quiet in these early morning hours, building anticipation for the adventure ahead.
Go to the Airport
Your friendly local helper will meet you at your hotel. You'll enjoy a comfortable ride in a private car, traveling through the city as it awakens, heading to the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). This short journey is filled with excitement for the views to come, knowing you're about to witness something truly grand.
Airport Procedures
The domestic airport area is already bustling. Your helper will expertly guide you through the check-in process, managing your tickets and boarding passes. All you'll need is your passport for identification. After a quick security check, you'll proceed to the departure lounge to await your flight.
Board the Plane
A voice will call you to board the plane. You'll walk onto the tarmac and ascend the steps into the aircraft. The welcoming plane crew will greet you as you find your designated window seat – rest assured, every seat offers a superb view. Before takeoff, the flight helper will provide you with a "Himalayan Peaks" map, allowing you to identify the mountains as they appear. Get ready for the grand views!
A Show Above the Clouds
As the plane ascends, the city below quickly fades from view. You'll soon see green hills, and then, the moment you've been eagerly awaiting arrives: the Himalayas emerge on the horizon. Often, a soft gasp sweeps through the cabin as the sheer size of the snow-covered mountains becomes breathtakingly clear. For the next hour, you'll be treated to a non-stop spectacle – a majestic line of the world's most powerful peaks. You might first spot Ganesh Himal, followed by Langtang. As the plane flies east, you'll see Dorje Lakpa, Melungtse, and Chugimago. Each peak possesses its own unique shape and beauty. The plane flies steadily, giving you ample time to absorb each magnificent vista. The bright sun illuminates the snow, making the peaks gleam.
The Return Journey & Cockpit View
After passing Mount Everest, the plane turns around, ensuring that passengers on the other side of the aircraft also get to experience the amazing views. During this return leg, the flight helpers will invite passengers, one by one, to visit the cockpit. This offers a truly special perspective, allowing you to see the mountains from the pilots' vantage point – a truly lasting memory as you observe the controls and the vast sky.
Land at the Airport
The plane lands smoothly back at TIA. As you disembark, you'll receive a special "Everest Experience" certificate, signed by your captain. This serves as a wonderful keepsake, reminding you of the incredible sights you witnessed.
Return to Hotel
Your helper will be ready to transport you back to your hotel. You'll arrive with countless photos and memories to cherish for a lifetime, ready to share your extraordinary stories with friends and family.
