Diner and Overnight in Cotonou

Day 2: Cotonou - Dassa

- Depart to Dassa- the town of 41 hills.

- Have lunch and stop at OKUTA, a natural granite site offering a great place where artists from Africa and beyond express themselves on the local rock.

- Transfer to CPN (nature study and protection centre) ‘Les Papillons’. Created in 1995, this association aims at public environmental education with particular reference to ecotourism.

- Have dinner and night stay in hotel at Dassa

Day -3 Dassa - Natitingou

- Depart to Natitingou, in local language meaning ‘The village of Nanto’.

- Have lunch along the way.

- Visit the regional museum of Natitingou

- The village of the local artists.

- Have dinner and a night stay at the hotel.

Day 4: Natitingou - Tanougou - Koussoucoingou

- Visit the camp peulh before continuing to Tanougou

- Transfer to Tanougou and visit the waterfalls to bathe.

- Have lunch, made by one of the TINFI restorers.

- Proceed to Koussoukoingou.

- Visit the small fortified huts called 'Tata', which are the indigenous habitat of the Bètammaribè tribe.

- Stay overnight in Tata House.

Day -5 Koussoucoingou

7 am; Journey to visit Batammariba tribe and House and sacred Baobab tree.

12- Back to Koussou for the night

1pm : Have lunch made from local ingredients by the caterers of the local association ‘Pearl of Atacora’.

2h30 pm- Hike to discover the hidden beauties in the valley near Koussou- the river where women come to fetch water. (2-hour hike). 4pm- Enjoy north local dance performed by women

- Enjoy your dinner and night stay in Tata House.

Day 6- : Koussoukoingou -Abomey

- Depart to Abomey, the city of Kings and the hotspot of the voodoo culture.

- Have lunch along the way.

- Visit Abomey's historical city in the former royal palace listed as UNESCO world cultural heritage. - Go to hotel for the night

Day 7: Abomey - Ganvié

- Transfer by car and canoe to the marshlands of Sô Ava and Ganvié.

- Visit the marshlands of Ganvié, discover the local life of the villagers.Discover the streets and go around the village, visit a family to know their lifestyle, have lunch at hotel.

- Attend the annually festival "Agahoun" ancestral rythm and enjoy yourselves with the locals. Uniform fabric available

- Have night in local house.

Day 8 : Ganvié

- Departure for grenary village of Ahomey, partial lake village to know about their activities

- Back to Ganvié to visit an IFA Priest, who has an Ague talking voodoo and exchange with him

- Night activities, enjoy your night with some children and one artist around traditionnel lamps at the public place of Kindji Enjoy your dinner and night stay in local house.

Day 9: Ganvié - Porto-Novo - Adjarra - Porto-Novo

- Visit the early floating market and continue to Porto-Novo

- Visit the Zangbeto square and the museum

- Visit the place of Toffa 1er

- Visit the botanic garden of nature and discover the use of the local medicines

- Continue to Adjarra to visit visit the black river and the drum market

- Assist a local dance

- Back to Porto-Novo for night stay in hotel

Day 10th: Porto-Novo - Kétou - Abomey-Calavi

- Departure to Kétou

- Visit Guêlêdê museum and attend Guêlêdê Mask dance

- Visit Akaba Idena museum and some places

- Back to Abomey-Calavi for the night in local house.

Road back and overnight in Cotonou

Day 11 : Quidach – Cotonou

Enjoy your lunch and take a 1-hour walk to discover the village, the history, the traditions, cultures and the characteristic voodoo cult of the Plah and Pédah people.
