Day 1:  Addis - Lalibela, by flight

We meet you early morning at your hotel for the transfer to the airport. A short flight takes us to the airport of Lalibela where our transfer is waiting for a 45 minutes drive to town. Here we check-in in our hotel and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon our local guide is waiting for us and we start with our exploration of Lalibela.

Day 2: Lalibela

visit to the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela is the highlight of any visit to Ethiopia. The 12th century churches are the legacy of king Lalibela. It is said his visit to Jerusalem inspired him to build these truly amazing places of worship.

Day3: Lalibela  morning  we drive churches in the village. There are quite a few options to spent the rest of our time. For example a visit to the Yemrehane Kristos church

(it is possible to add additional days to explore more of Lalibela and the surrounding area, excellent hiking opportunities are available)

Day5: Bahirdar

Bahir Dar –Boat Trip on Lake Tana and excursion to Tiss

to the mystical Lake Tana, is described by it people as

their Riviera and, with its wide streets shaded by palm trees and

sweeping views across shimmering blue waters, it is hard to argue. In

the morning, we will take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the island

monasteries. Namely Azuwa Maryam and Ura Kidane mihiret; Zege

peninsula’s most famous monastery known for its very beautifully

painted  ‘Meqdas’ and also it holds Ethiopian religious

iconography important collection of 16th – and 18th century crosses

and crowns . In the afternoon, drive out to the majestic Blue Nile

falls (water that smokes) for a short hike. The excursion to the Blue

Nile fall is about 35kms from Bahir Dar. The fall is one of the most

spectacular in Africa. We will return to the city late in the

afternoon. You have the privilege to take a calm walk in the main

streets of the city witnessing the vibe and the culture.

Day 6: Bahirdar - Gondar

Gondar is founded around 1632 by Emperor Fasilidas and was the medieval capital of Ethiopia for over 200 year. The hilly surrounding made it easy to defend,· malaria was absent because of the high altitude and fresh water available from several rivers. It's founder and his successors left the town with marvelous castles en churches.

Nowadays Gondar is is a lively university town with a pleasant town centre which was build by the Italian's and still called Piazza. The town is famous for the asmari's (praise singers) playing their masinko's (one-string violin-like instrument). It makes a nice evening out to see them performing in one of the Asmari Bet's.

The small village of Wolleka, just north of Gondar, is a little remainder of the  Falasha (Ethiopian Jews) community who's origin is not known but it's believed their story is  connected to King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba

Royal Enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi)

Fasilidas Castle in the Royal EnclosureGraceful castles built in the 17th and 18th century by the successive Gonderine kings are found on the 70 hectare compound. In addition it contains many other structures among them a sauna (said to treat Iyasu the Great who was suffering skin disease) and a lion cage to symbolize the connection with the Lion of Judah. The Royal Enclosure or Fasil Ghebbi is a World Heritage Site.

Fasilidas Bath

Fasilidas Bath in GondarNot known if it is founded for leisure or religious purposes by the royal family, nowadays it is the main site for the very colorful Timket celebrations in Gondar. It is a very  peaceful place to walk around. On the site is a monument what is believed to be the grave of Zobel the brave horse of Fasilidas.

Kuskuam Maryam

A rough road leads to Kuskuam, a few kilometers out of town. It was the residence of Empress Mentewab. Not as well preserved as the Royal Enclosure it still makes a worthwhile visit. On November 15th (16th in a leap year) the colorful Debre Kuskuam, remembering the apparition of St. Mary during her exile in Egypt, is celebrated here.

Debre Birhan Selassie Church

The painted ceiling of Debre Birhan Selassie Church in GondarDuring the invasion of the Mahdist of Sudan in 1888 almost all the churches of Gondar have been destroyed. It is said this church survived by the protection of a swarm of bees. Well known for the elaborated decorated inside including the world famous ceiling with the angel faces. Every 7th day of the month (Ethiopian Calendar) Selassie day (day of Trinity) is celebrated

Day 7:Gondar -Simien

Simien mountain

100 km north on the

Ethiopian highland to Debark, a small town of about 35,000 inhabitants

at the border to the famous Simien National Park.

After a quick stop for the formalities at the head quarter offices of

the national par in debark to arraning scout

rough road to the Sankaber area at about 3,100 m sea level from where

we take a short walk of 2-3 hours

We get a first impressive view over the dramatic mountain range and

see some typical plants of that area such as big Heather Trees (erica

arborea), St.John swort (hypericum revulutm) or the Abissinian Wild

Rose (rosa abissinica). This is also the area in which the largest

number of Gelada Baboons (theorepticus gelada) can be found.

Day 11: Jinka - Mursi- Turmi

Stop At: Mago National Park, 1000 Ethiopia

Early in the morning we can drive to Mursi village through mago national park. Mursi tribe women is famous by wearing lip plate and ear lobe ,after we visit mursi village we will back to jinka for lunch then we can drive to Turmi the small town of Hamer tribes.

Day 12: Turmi-Karo

Stop At: Turmi, Turmi, Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region

In the morning we can drive to karo from Turmi. Karo tribes are well known by body elaborate paintings and they are pastoralists living in east bank of omo river,after we visit karo village we can drive back to turmi. After lunch we can drive to Hamer village.

Day 13: Turmi-Dassnch

Stop At: Omorate, Ethiopia

After breakfast we can drive to Omorate which is the small town of Dassnench tribes. Dassnench tribes are agro pastoralists living over the shore of omo river.They are called the people of Delta ,they are living in the border of Ethiopia and Kenya. After we visit Dassnench village we can drive to Turmi.if there's a market we can see the market but if there is no market we try to see bull jumping ceremony.

Day 14: Turmi-Bana-Jinka
