3 Days Gorilla Trekking Rwanda Volcanoes Park

Our 3 Days Rwanda Gorillas Trekking Tour takes you to Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda. See the gentle giants up close in their natural habitat.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will either be picked up from Kigali Airport upon your arrival or from your hotel in Kigali city and be transferred to the Volcanoes National Park. There, you can prepare for your next day’s gorilla trekking adventure within the forest. The park is home to more than 360 mountain gorillas which are some of the only remaining ones in the whole world.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at Gorilla Nest Lodge, Mountains Gorilla View Lodge, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge or Kinigi Guest House (L &D).

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in PNV

After breakfast by 8:00 am, you will go to the park headquarters for a short briefing and gorilla group distribution. You will then set out in the forest to search for these rare mountain gorillas. In Africa, they are only found in Rwanda and Bwindi, Uganda.

You will have with you your packed water since the trekking can be rough, especially in the dry season and when the gorillas have moved off a long distance.

Unlike in Uganda, gorilla trekking in Rwanda can take between 2-7 hours depending on the gorillas’ movement. You are only allowed to stay with the gorillas for one hour which will be enough for you to take pictures, video coverage and enjoy yourselves.

You will then return to your lodge for refreshments and lunch. In the evening, you can visit the Twin Lakes or take a short self-guided walk around Kinigi (Ruhengeri).

Dinner and overnight stay will be at Gorilla Nest Lodge, Mountains Gorilla View Lodge, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge or Kinigi Guest House (Full Board).

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kigali. Upon reaching the country’s capital, you will go for a short Kigali City tour and visit the Genocide memorial sites, cultural sites, craft centres, shops and local markets.

Dinner and overnight stay at the Step Town Motel, Hotel Chez Lando or be transferred to the airport for your flight back home (depending on the time of your flight).
