Akagera is located in Eastern Rwanda and is home to the Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino), along with giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and over 500 bird species. It’s Rwanda’s only savannah national park — perfect for game drives and boat safaris.

Day 1: Kigali to Akagera – Afternoon Game Drive

Morning pickup from Kigali (around 7:00 AM)

2.5-hour scenic drive to Akagera

Park entry and check-in at the lodge

Afternoon game drive (see elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope)

Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 2: Morning Game Drive + Boat Safari

Early breakfast

Sunrise game drive (chance to see lions, leopards, rhinos)

Lunch at the lodge

Afternoon boat safari on Lake Ihema (hippos, crocodiles, water birds)

Return to Kigali in the evening
