Old Coimbra Tour
hello, i'm joao, i'm from coimbra. I have a degree in anthropology and a master's degree in cultural heritage management and programming from the university of coimbra.
Coimbra is a city of history, traditions and culture. City of kings and students. But also of good gastronomy, good beers and liqueurs, and good sweets. This former capital of Portugal, always famous for its iconic university, is full of charms. Come and discover this extraordinary city...
You can take different routes on a general tour of Coimbra, because there's so much to see
On our tour, if it's planned for 3 hours, I suggest we start our visit at the university (exterior view), followed by the majestic Botanical Gardens, a panoramic view of the National Museum, the Old Cathedral (entrance), Quebra costas, downtown (Largo da Portagem, some narrow historical streets, Commerce Square, Church Santa Cruz). We finish in the downtown in the square 8 de maio
The price of this tour was made with possible entrance fees in mind, as well as a tasting of a typical Coimbra sweet. Tourists have pay ticket in the new Cathedral, and a typical sweet from coimbra in the Pastry shop.
The final payment of the tour will be at the end of the visit
