Day 1 – Fly Addis Ababa to Jinka / Visit Ari and Banna Tribes

Morning flight from Addis Ababa to Jinka. Upon arrival, visit the South Omo Museum and an Ari village, known for pottery and coffee traditions.

In the afternoon, visit the Banna people, famous for colorful beadwork and hairstyles. Learn about their agricultural lifestyle.

Overnight in Jinka.

Day 2 – Excursion to Mago National Park / Visit Mursi Tribe / Drive to Turmi

After breakfast, drive to Mago National Park to meet the Mursi tribe, renowned for their lip plates and traditional scarification. Return to Jinka for lunch, then continue to Turmi, home of the Hamar people.

Evening visit to a Hamar village and, if available, witness a bull-jumping ceremony, an important cultural rite.

Overnight in Turmi.

Day 3 – Visit Karo and Dassanech Tribes

After breakfast, drive to Korcho village to meet the Karo people, famous for intricate body painting and riverbank villages overlooking the Omo River.

Continue to Omorate to cross the Omo River by local boat and visit the Dassanech tribe, known for their resilience and adaptation to desert life.

Return to Turmi with a scenic stop along the way.

Day 4 – Drive to Konso / Visit Konso Village (UNESCO Site)

After breakfast, drive north toward Konso, passing through the lands of the Banna people.

Arrive in Konso, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and explore the terraced farmlands, stone-walled villages, and “Waga” grave statues that honor local heroes. Learn about the unique Konso social and agricultural system.

Overnight in Konso.

Day 5 – Drive to Arba Minch / Visit Dorze Village

After breakfast, drive to Arba Minch, stopping en route at Chencha to visit the Dorze people, known for their beehive-shaped bamboo houses, weaving skills, and vibrant mountain setting.

Enjoy stunning views of the twin lakes, Chamo and Abaya, from the highlands.

Overnight in Arba Minch.

Day 6 – Boat Trip on Lake Chamo / Nechisar National Park

In the morning, take a boat trip on Lake Chamo, part of Nechisar National Park, where you can spot giant Nile crocodiles, hippos, and various water birds.

In the afternoon, relax or visit a nearby community for a final cultural experience.

Overnight in Arba Minch.

Day 7 – Fly or Drive Back to Addis Ababa / Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the Arba Minch Airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa (or drive if preferred).

Upon arrival, visit Merkato, Africa’s largest open-air market, or relax at a traditional café.

In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with live Ethiopian music and dance before your transfer to Bole International Airport for departure.
