Tata Sombas & Hills : 05days/04 Nights in the North of Benin 🇧🇯
Day 1: Abomey. Heritage Departure at 8 a.m. to visit the royal palace museums (UNESCO heritage sites), Goho Square, the Chameleon Temple to learn about voodoo, and finish with the voodoo market. Lunch at 1 p.m. at the Paqueta restaurant. At 3 p.m., we continue our journey to Dassa-Zoumé and visit the Maktub Ecofarm. Overnight stay at the Maktub Ecofarm hotel.
Day 2: The natural beauty of Dassa-Zoumé 8 a.m.: visit to the Adjo Boco Ignace site, the Princes' Hills, the Marian cave and drive to Savalou to visit the royal palace of Savalou, then visit to the Dancoli vodun. 2 p.m.: lunch at the Savalou restaurant. At 3.30pm, drive to Natitingou and overnight stay at the Chez Noël guesthouse.
Day 3: Natitingou. 10 a.m., departure for the tour. Visit the traditional village of the Tanékas and discover their indigenous way of life. The village where dignitaries wear animal skin clothing. Visit to discover how Peulh cheese is made. Then, a long drive to discover the carved Kota stones and relax near the waterfall and in nature. Head to Natitingou. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Natitingou & Tatas somba 8 a.m.: Visit to the regional museum, then departure for the Tata Somba people to discover their tribal identity expressed in their traditional earthen buildings, preserved and passed down from generation to generation. 1 p.m.: Lunch in Koussoucoingou and discovery of the different types of Tata and their culture. At 3 p.m., departure for the Atacora mountain range. Hike through the mountains for about 2 hours along the old trail. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5: Natitingou to Cotonou 10 a.m.: Departure from the hotel After breakfast, long drive from Natitingou to Cotonou with a lunch break in Dassa-Zoumé or Bohicon at 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. Arrival in Cotonou at 7 p.m. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Cotonou.
