3Days tour in Chengdu
Day 1 Relax with Tea, Enjoy Culture & Live Like a Local
09:30 Meet your guide at the gate of People’s Park.
10:30 Walk five minutes to the underground Sichuan Opera House for a 25-minute “Bian-lian” face-changing showcase; performers swap rainbow masks faster than you can blink, a skill once kept secret by court artists.
11:00 Stroll to nearby “Wide-Narrow Alleys” but turn into an untouched hutong where retired grandpas play mah-jong.
Day 2 Escape the Metropolis – Secret Peaks & Time-Warp Towns Full-Day Adventure
07:30 Hotel pick-up; 1 h drive to Qingcheng “Back Mountain” (not the tourist front).
12:30 Descend to a farmhouse that serves “tofu banquet”: 12 dishes from one stone-ground bean, smoked over camphor wood.
13:30 Continue 25 min to Pingle Ancient Post Road, a Song-dynasty river town bypassed by highways.
16:00 Hands-on workshop in a 400-year-old paper-making court; pull a sheet of mulberry pulp, press flowers from the mountain, and mail the postcard to yourself from the world’s smallest Qing-era post office still in operation.
18:00 Return to Chengdu before traffic thickens, minds still echoing with river gongs and pine wind.
Day 3 Meet Chengdu’s Black-and-White Stars – Panda Keeper for a Morning
07:00 Enter Dujiangyan Panda Base before crowds (guide pre-books limited keeper slots). Change into blue overalls, receive a bamboo knife and panda poo chart—health checks start here.
07:30 Feed 4-year-old Qi-Qi his breakfast: 15 kg of fresh arrow bamboo that you slice into hand-length pieces while learning why pandas spend 14 h a day munching.
09:30 Plant bamboo shoots in the base’s re-forestation plot—your personal contribution to enlarge wild corridors. Receive an electronic “Panda Guardian” certificate plus a paw-print postcard the keepers stamp on site.
10:30 Back to Chengdu downtown in time for a late breakfast of wontons, heart still melting at the sound of bamboo crun
