Day 1:Nagarkot to Dhulikhel Hiking Detailed Itinerary 2024 and 2025
Drive from Kathmandu to Nagarkot (1.5 hours, 27 km)
You will set off on this journey a bit early in order to see the sunrise in Nagarkot. Depending on the season and sunrise time, you will be picked up to leave by 4:30 AM. You may start seeing vegetation on the trip from Kathmandu to Nagarkot, which takes an hour and a half.
At an elevation of 2,175 meters, Nagarkot is a city saturated in greenery with sweeping views of the mountain ranges Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, Manaslu, Number, Ganesh, and Annapurna as well as Mt. Everest to the northeast. As you ascend the tower at Nagarkot, you will be able to see the dawn, which is a very beautiful time to visit. You will then hike back and eat breakfast here. Then you may be ready to hike from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel.
Hike from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel (5 to 6 hours, 16 km)
With gorgeous scenery on the horizon, the modest hike from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel truly allows you to unwind and enjoy the moment. You may obtain breathtaking vistas of the Himalayan Mountains, and the roads are mostly made of dirt. You will go through extensive pine woods and even rhododendron trees, which are Nepal's national flowers.
Hike through the Nala Village along the route; if you can, buy some of the famed Khuwa made from evaporated milk there. It is a sacred location for both Hindus and Buddhists, and it is well-known for the temple dedicated to Nala Karunamaya, who is revered as the world's creator. Additionally, you will go to Banepa, where you may experience traditional Nepali culture and rural life. Older temples in Banepa include the Chandeshwari and eight separate Lord Ganesh temples.
When you arrive at Dhulikhel, your journey comes to a conclusion. Here, you may explore the Kali temple, and the renowned selfie stone, and even interact with the people to learn about their Newari culture and traditions. Mount Everest, Mount Annapurna, and Mount Ganesh can all be seen from Dhulikhel in a 180-degree panoramic vista of the mountains.
Drive from Dhulikhel Back to Kathmandu (1 hour)
After eating lunch and visiting the town, you will leave Dhulikhel and travel back to Kathmandu at the end of a successful day. Before that, you can explore the city, buy some trinkets, and perhaps take some pictures. Your journey is finally finished as you are dropped off at your hotel after a long day.
