We begin at the Lapa district, famous for its bohemian atmosphere and vibrant nightlife. Here, we will admire the Arcos da Lapa – a stunning 18th‑century aqueduct that once supplied water to the city. Right next to it, we will visit the Escadaria de Selarón, a colorful mosaic staircase created by the Chilean artist Jorge Selarón, now one of Rio’s most photographed spots.
Next, we explore the Real Gabinete Português de Leitura (Portuguese Royal Library), a breathtaking neo‑Manueline building with over 350,000 rare books. It is truly a hidden gem in the city center.
We then continue to the Catedral de São Sebastião, a striking modern cathedral shaped like a pyramid, with stunning stained‑glass windows and a solemn atmosphere.
Finally, we end our tour at the Largo da Carioca, a bustling square where you can feel the pulse of downtown Rio – surrounded by historic buildings and lively street vendors.

Wir starten im Viertel Lapa, bekannt für seine bohemische Atmosphäre. Hier bewundern wir die Arcos da Lapa – ein prachtvolles Aquädukt aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. Gleich daneben besuchen wir die Escadaria de Selarón, eine farbenfrohe Treppe, die vom Künstler Jorge Selarón gestaltet wurde und zu den meistfotografierten Orten Rios gehört.
Weiter geht es zum Real Gabinete Português de Leitura, einer atemberaubenden Bibliothek im neomanuelinischen Stil mit über 350.000 seltenen Büchern – ein echter Geheimtipp im Stadtzentrum.
Anschließend besichtigen wir die Catedral de São Sebastião, eine moderne Kathedrale in Form einer Pyramide mit beeindruckenden Glasfenstern.
Den Abschluss bildet der Largo da Carioca, ein belebter Platz, an dem das Herz der Innenstadt schlägt – umgeben von historischen Gebäuden und lebendigen Straßenhändlern.
