Marian - As the owner and product manager of Active Travel ("The Organizer"), I bring a lifelong passion for the mountains to every tour I lead. I am a licensed mountain guide and tour guide (license no. 10114), with over 16 years of professional experience in the field. My journey began with a deep love for hiking, which evolved into a career focused on sharing the natural beauty and adventure of the mountains with others. With 21 years of hiking and trekking experience, I have explored much of the Carpathian Chain, focusing on the Romanian side, home to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Europe. This extensive experience has enabled me to guide travelers through Romania's rugged terrain, including its highest peaks, hidden valleys, and scenic trails. In addition to my extensive exploration of the Carpathians, I’ve also had the privilege of trekking the E4 European Walking Path in Crete Island three times, from Paleochora to Chora Sfakion. These experiences have deepened my understanding of diverse landscapes, from the rocky, sun-drenched coastlines of Crete to the lush, mountainous regions of Romania. With a deep commitment to creating meaningful, safe adventures, I ensure that each guest experiences the unique beauty and rich cultural heritage of these landscapes, while promoting sustainable, responsible tourism.
