Emi U. est un guide-conférencier privé local en Turquie - Türkiye
Hello, my name is Emi U.
I was born and raised in Izmir but have also lived in London, Antalya, Marmaris, and Istanbul for a long time. I have been a guide since 2000!
I can say that my dream from childhood and later my hobby became my lifetime work! I love to explore, share, and appreciate history, different cultures, religious information, and cuisines. I know English and Hebrew, and besides two different languages, I am learning Spanish. I also specialize in Jewish Heritage and have often worked at Jewish Festivals! When we talk about the history of cuisine in Izmir or the Aegean, we observe and have the opportunity to visit.
Old Greek, Archaic Greek, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Jewish, Ottoman, Levantine, Republic of Turkey period! When you hire me, you will feel all the ancient times as we walk, as I talk, as I show you around! I am not guiding only tours; I am making you feel the place as it was, how and why it changed, and what it became because of the impact of social, geography, and economic changes over time! I am also very flexible, always smiling, giving the best tour as my guests wish and need! I grew up in a large family with grandparents and nieces, so I am very good with the concept of family, older adults, and all kinds of tours! I love food, love to search and share how it became and why it's so special or the behind-the-scenes story of it! I also made "boyos" (the most popular dough of İzmir) workshops with my Mother to the İzmir ladies in the past.
If you want a good experience in Aegean history, culture, architecture, shopping, and cuisine, especially in Izmir, come and join my tours! I promise I will show you interesting places depending on a tour, hidden gems with my 24 years of experience, and the taste I always had and evolved within years! I can also make customized tours!
I am not a driver's guide! I can arrange a private car with the driver or use the local transportation.
