Voor het tweede jaar op rij heb ik als reisleidster van een groep Nederlandse toeristen gewerkt met Salim, een geweldige gids en gastheer van zijn land.

Salim is behulpzaam, attent, professioneel en heeft oor en oog voor alle gasten, hij kent zijn land als geen ander en een vraag aan hem blijft nooit onbeantwoord. Niets is hem teveel.

Ik kan Salim dan ook van harte aanbevelen aan een ieder die Oman wil gaan bezoeken.
Ikzelf verheug mij nu al weer op onze volgende samenwerking.

My wife and I travelled in the the group of 8, mentioned in the review of Mr. Orlando Morroy below. We visited the northern part of Oman from february 5 till 11, 2026 with Salim. I fully agree with the very positive reviews from other travellers which I have read on this website.
In addition to Salim's enormous knowledge of every site in the country he surprised us also with a lot of other interesting information about Oman society, government, religion and even techinacal explanations of installations that we passed by, like the desalination plants, power stations and other things..
We had to cover a lot of kilometers in the bus for our trip, coming from Dubai. Salim took care that we always had a stop after 50 to 90 minutes in the bus. And during these stretches he was tireless in telling us interesting stories which entertained us while in the bus. He was also helpful with getting us real quick through the border procedures which can take a lot of time.
I highly recommend him to everyone who is planning to visit Oman.

We contacted Salim in January 2026 to discuss a few days sight seeing whilst we were visiting Muscat - we had read his other reviews and found them to be exceptional. We usually do self exploration when we visit other countries but knew that with the terrain in Oman and not wanting to drive this would not have been possible. Salim contacted us immediately within a few hours on making initial contact providing us with options for the two days and photographs of his vehicle - along with a competitive tariff. The days out were a treat - informative and extremely enjoyable - one day doing The Opera House and the new National Museum - a must. The other day doing a variation of "Oman Across the Ages" - we greatly enjoyed our time with Salim and were sad that we only able to spend two days with him. Such a wonderful country and guide.

It was for us on our planned tour thru Oman a real stroke of luck to have gotten Salim as our tour guide. He was a very kind and open minded guy. Not that he only drove us around to places but he also with his broad knowledge was a more maintaining companion for us. On every subject was it technical, political, social or historical, he was on a firm terrain. That made our tour a real pleasure.
We learned a lot of the insides of Oman and its culture, their people and the amazing landscapes.
Salim had a good sense of our preferences and eventually adjusted our itinerary in order for us to lvisit other interesting places.
Last but not least I like to emphasize, that Salim was an incredibly professional driver. Every situation of the traffic and even on off-road he managed with great sovereignty. We never felt unsafe or uncomfortable during the trip.
We really decide to come back in a very near future.

Salim has truly been one of the most amazing tour guides we have ever had, if not the best. He was always professional and extremely well informed about any topic. With the passing of the time he became a friend to us because of his nice manners, of his humor and of his flexibility. He puts his heart into his job and it's easily noticeable from the way he makes the group feel: at home. He is extremely well prepared about handling any kind of landscape; from the desert to the mountains and the coast. In the desert, he also stopped to help another car that got stuck; this shows the noble soul he has. We always felt safe with him and with only 5 days we truly felt part of the culture. It was a pleasure to visit oman with Salim, a truly special person.
