Every year, millions of people come to Kyiv to discover the heart of Christianity in whole ancient Rus with a thousand-year-history - the Kyiv-Pecherska Lavra.
Of course, we invite you to explore Lavra on one of our excursions.
We will not bore you with in-depth knowledge of the Christian faith or the "wilds" of the causes of church schisms (only if you ask us about it).
Our walk will be exciting and interesting!
The word "lavra" in Greek means "city" or "residential quarter." And we will show you a separate spiritual city, divided into Upper and Lower Territories. You walk through the holy land for 2 hours and during this time we will visit all main places of the monastery:
On the territory of the Upper Lavra you will admire the largest temples: the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God and the refectory church of Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves, as well as the large Lavra bell tower;
You will go up to the bell tower, admire the picturesque view of the Dnipro, learn the history of this grandiose structure and the price of bell ringing;
In the Lower Territory of the Lavra you will visit the labyrinths of the Near or Far Caves, where the relics of 120 saints are located, listen to the stories about the life of the ancient Pechersk monks. And you will learn the secrets of Ilya Muromets and Nestor the Chronicler.
