GRAND EGYPTIAN MUSEUM HALF DAY TOUR
The tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza to enjoy a tour to the new Grand Egyptiam Museum (GEM) where you can enjoy seeing the newly opened 11 exhibition halls. The halls exhibit pieces from 700 thousand years till the Greeco Roman period including some Roman mummies. In addition to this you can see :
-The Hanging Obelisk that belongs to King Ramses II (1297 B.C). This is the first hanging obelisk in the world and a museum masterpiece.
– The colossal statue of King Ramses II. The statue is made of granite from Aswan quarries and weighs 100 Tons.
-Two statues of an unknown Ptolemaic King and Queen (300 B.C.), where you can see a mix of ancient Egyptian and Greek art.
-10 identical statues of King Senusert (200 B.C)
-The Victory Columns of King Meren Ptah, the son of King Ramses II, celebrate the military victory of the king and the number of prisoners and the animal he brought to Egypt after defeating the enemy forces. It is a fantastic piece of art and history
Next, we'll explore The Grand Staircase, which is adorned with a wide variety of beautiful statues from different periods of time. These statues symbolize the ancient Egyptian belief in the journey towards eternity and immortality, making it a fascinating part of our tour.
After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo.
