One-Day Adventure from Samarkand to Tajikistan (Seven Lakes)
Early Morning (7:00–8:00 AM): Your private guide picks you up from your hotel in Samarkand.
Drive to the Tajik Border (Jartepa): Around 1-hour ride (approx. 40–50 km).
Border Procedures: Your guide will assist with all formalities at the border. Please make sure you have a valid Tajikistan visa. This process may take some time.
Trip to Penjikent: After crossing into Tajikistan, you'll head to Penjikent (about 30–50 km, roughly 40 minutes).
(Optional) Penjikent Visit: If time allows, explore this ancient Sogdian city — local bazaar, mosque, and possibly the Sarazm archaeological site (UNESCO listed).
Journey to the Seven Lakes: From Penjikent, drive through scenic mountain roads toward the Seven Lakes area (approx. 80 km, usually by 4x4 vehicle due to road conditions).
Explore the Magical Seven Lakes:
You’ll visit each lake in order, starting from the lowest to the highest:
Mijgon – Famous for its ever-changing colors (turquoise, blue, purple).
Soya – Nestled in shade, surrounded by rocky cliffs.
Hushyor – Said to be filled with fish.
Nophin – The longest lake, near a large mountain village.
Khurdak – Smallest of the seven.
Marguzor – The biggest and often considered the most beautiful. Petroglyphs can be found nearby. Option to ride a donkey uphill.
Hazorchashma – The highest lake (2332m), offering stunning mountain views.
Enjoy light walks, scenic photography, and a peaceful picnic lunch (if included).
Return Drive: After soaking in the beauty, head back to the Tajik-Uzbek border.
Border Re-entry: Your guide will assist again as you cross back into Uzbekistan.
