8 Days Trekking in the South of Morocco

Day 1 – Arrival in Ouarzazate : Upon arrival at the airport of Ouarzazate, welcome by your guide and transfer and installation in a hotel right category. Briefing with your guide on the progress of the trip . Depending on the arrival time and if time permits, you can first explore the city : visit the ancient village, kasbah Taourirt, lively souks or film studios .

Type of Accommodation: Hotel in half pension.

Day 2 – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley – Darkawa : Departure in the morning from Ouarzazate by Minibus to the  road from the Dades Valley , Tinerhir then move to Erfoud . Before Merzouga, the road forks to the dunes Darkawa , where we meet our team of camel Berbers. Loading luggage and depart for a short hike to the first camp in the small dunes Moulay Amer.

Running time : 1 hour 30

Type of accommodation: camping tent .

Day 3 to Day 6 : Trek in the dunes of Merzouga during 4 days of walking , we take the easy paths to discover a range of landscapes of uncommon beauty. Journeying of a landscape to another , crossing the vast desert , we explore in a setting with red and ocher colors, a series of landscapes that beautifully illustrate the splendor and atmosphere of the great Sahara.

Walking time: 4-5 hours per day

Distance stages : between 12 and 18 Kilometers per day.

Type of accommodation: camping tent .

Day 7 – Erg Znaïgui – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate end of the trek in the dunes of Erg Znaïgui , breakfast bivouac and short walk to join our minibus along the asphalt road Taouz . Return transfer to Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley . A picnic lunch is taken en route . Arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Type of Accommodation: Hotel in half pension.

Day 8 – Departure from Marrakech : depending on the time of your departure , transfer to the airport by your guide , assistance with registration and flight to your home formalities . If your departure is scheduled around noon or in the afternoon , you will remain a few hours to shop before leaving for the airport.
