The Kanheri Caves are a group of caves and rock-cut monuments located in the western outskirts of Mumbai. They contain Buddhist sculptures and relief carvings, paintings and inscriptions, dating from the 1st century CE to the 10th century CE.
Caves are in the middle of the National park. There are lots of animal in the park in their natural habitat including Macaques, boars and antelopes are common sights, there are more 40 free leopards in the park.
One of the Cave has unfinished paintings of Buddha on the ceiling of the cave.
