3 Days / 2 Nights Samburu National Reserve

Safari highlights: This is a three days’ wildlife trail family safari to the wilderness of Samburu National Park. You will stay in a luxurious tented camp during this trip sharing a room with all your small children. If you have your children with you then you can stay in a family tent. The trip starts from Nairobi and returns back to Nairobi on the third day.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our tour manager who will brief you on your safari. You will then drive north to Samburu Game Reserve arriving in time for a late lunch or, alternatively you can have your lunch en-route. Game views as you proceed to your camp for check in and late lunch. After lunch depart for an afternoon 4.00pm game viewing drive in this northern frontier reserve where you can see the special five species.

As you enter the Samburu Game Reserve from Archer's Post you may spot a herd of elephants grazing near the river beds where there is plenty of food available. However, the game reserve is characterized with the doum palms which are clear identification that the water table around this region is high. As you game view towards your lodge you may spot the special five species which are the Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, grevy's zebra and gerenuk. This species can only be seen in the north of equator in Kenya. Samburu game reserve borders Shaba and buffalo springs reserve. These reserve are serve by Uaso Nyiro in some place it forms the boundary between Samburu and Buffalo springs. Lunch, Dinner and overnight at Larsen's Luxury Tented Camp or Similar.

Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve

Explore this reserve with unique flora and fauna. You have also a great opportunity to explore the neighboring reserves: Shaba National Reserve and Buffalo Springs Game Reserve. All the three reserves have their unique factors and all are separated by one river; the Ewaso Nyiro River also known as 'Brown River'.

Samburu Game Reserve is the home of the lion that took care for a baby Oryx, not only once, but twice. Shaba is one of the places that Joy Adamson made her home and adopted a cheetah's cub; whereas Buffalo Springs has its own unique springs which is believed that it propped up during the 2nd World War when the Italians bombed the area confusing it with Nairobi. You may opt to have a cultural visit to the cousin's of the Maasai, the Samburu People.

Breakfast,Lunch, Dinner and overnight at Larsen's Luxury Tented Camp or Similar.

Day 3: Samburu - Nairobi

Depart after breakfast for Nairobi arriving in the afternoon then you will be dropped at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Lunch will be taken en-route.
