Ama Lapcha Pass Trek Overview
Ama Lapcha is one of the adventurous passes which lies at the elevation of 6416m, in the Makalu region, in between Mera peak and the Everest trekking region. The Ama Lapcha Pass Trek connects the trail to Makalu and Everest region passing through the scenic view of Mt Everest, Mt Makalu, Island peak, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, and many other snow-capped mountains.
The Ama Lapcha Pass trek offers the chance to see the distinctive culture and traditions of the Sherpa people in addition to the breathtaking mountain landscape. Trekkers can explore nearby monasteries, discover the Sherpa community‘s history and traditions, and enjoy local food.
The trek begins in Lukla and proceeds along the Dudh Koshi River, passing past a number of traditional Sherpa settlements and historic monasteries. Trekkers will gain height as they go along and see more and more breathtaking scenery. The route also passes through two higher passes, Mera and Amphu Lapcha pass.
Ama Lapcha is one of the difficult and challenging passes which is very less explored by people. Past experience and mountaineering skills are a must for this trek. Therefore, It is recommended for experienced trekkers who are physically fit and well-prepared for the rigors of high-altitude trekking.

Day 1- Arrival in Kathmandu
Day 2- Kathmandu - Paiya, 5 hours drive
Day 3- Paiya - Pangom, 5 hours walk
Day 4- Pangom - Ningsow, 5 hours walk
Day 5- Ningsow - Chatra khola, 7 hours walk
Day 6- Chatra Khola - Kothe, 6 hours walk
Day 7- Kothe - Thaknak ,4 hours walk
Day 8- Thaknak - Khare, 3 hours walk
Day 9- Khare - Mera La pass, 6 hours walk
Day 10- Mera La pass - Kongma dingma, 5 hours walk
Day 11- Kongma dingma - Seto Pokhari, 5 hours walk
Day 12- Seto Pokhari - Ama Lapcha pass, 4 hours walking
Day 13- Ama Lapcha pass - Chokhung
Day 14- Chokhung - Tengboche, 5 hours walk
Day 15- Tengboche - Namche - Monju, 4-6 hours walk
Day 16- Monju - Lukla
Day 17- Lukla - Kathmandu, 35 minutes flight
