Istanbul for the Weekend
The two-day tour “Istanbul on Weekends” is an exciting and impressive itinerary for those who want to explore all the beauties of the city in a short time. During this two-day tour, beside the must-see attractions of Istanbul, we will also visit the most interesting and popular places of the city.
The first day we will have a walking tour in the old city and visit the prominent architectural monuments of Byzantine and the Ottoman period, which are located on Sultanahmet Square within walking distance from each other. We start our tour visiting the ancient Roman Hippodrome - the entertainment center of Constantinople, where chariot races, sport competitions, riots and political debates took place.
Then we will visit the Blue Mosque -one of the most prominent landmarks of the city and the greatest feat of Ottoman achitecture, impressing the visitors with its domes, courtyards and its magnificent blue Turkish tiles adorning the interior.
Next we descend to the Basilica Cistern - one of the largest and well-preserved underground reservoirs of Constantinople. Walking along the paths among the columns we dive into the medieval atmosphere of Constantinople and explore the secret of the two heads of Medusa The Gorgon lying under two columns in the far corner of the cistern.
After visiting the Basilica Cistern, we will head to the Hagia Sophia Museum - a worldwide famous masterpiece of Byzantine architecture, the symbol of the "golden age" of the Byzantine Empire. It impresses the visitors with its scale and beautiful interior and mosaics.
Finally we finish our tour visiting the Topkapi Palace, - the administrative center of the Ottoman Empire for four centuries and the residence for the 21 sultans. This huge palace complex consists of many pavilions, exhibition halls, treasury sections and harem and presents unique collection of porcelain, jewelery, valuable collections of ancient manuscripts and holly relics. During our visit we will also stroll down the corridors of the mysterious harem and explore the daily life and the intrigues of the harem people and the family secrets of the Ottoman Dynasty.
The next day will have an amazing tour program. In the morning we start off visiting Dolmabahche Palace - a masterpiece of the Turkish Renaissance which served as the residence for the last Ottoman Sultans. After visiting Dolmabahce Palace, the next point of our tour is Taksim Square and the famous Istiklal Street-the beating heart of the city.This is really colorful, all-time crowded street in Istanbul where you can experience the duality of the city. We will start our walk along this street from Taksim Square. We Look out for historical passages , churches , consulate buildings, and art galleries , as well as stunning examples of 19th century Neo Classical and Art Nouveau architecture to admire. Then we keep walking down to the Galata district. This place still attracts the tourists with its colorfulness. We climb the Galata Tower to enjoy the amazing panorama of the old city and the Golden Horn Bay.Then from there we walk down to the Galata Bridge and cross it enjoying the panorama of the old city and the Golden Horn Bay.Further from Eminönü pier, we take the boat for the cruise along the Bosphorus and admire the picturesque shores of the strait. Finally, we end our tour visiting the Spice Market.

Первый день мы совершим пешеходную экскурсию по старому городу и посетим основные архитектурные памятники Византии и Османской империи которые располагаются на Площади Султанахмед в шаговой близости друг от друга. Начнем экскурсию посещением Римского Ипподрома -центр развлечений древнего Константинополя, где проходили гонки колесниц, спортивные состязания и политические дебаты. На площади ипподром осмотрим Египетский Обелиск , Колонну Константина и бронзовую Змеиную колонну. Затем посетим Голубую Мечеть – самая красивая и знаменитая императорская мечеть Стамбула, которая славится своими редчайшими голубыми изразцами ручной работы, украшающие ее интерьер. Следующим пунктом в ходе нашей экскурсии по старому городу будет Собор Cвятой Софии – шедевр Византийской архитектуры 6-го века, который поражает своими масштабами, уникальными византийскими мозаиками и прекрасным интерьером. Далее спустимся в подземный мир великой Византии — Цистерну Базилику, одно из крупнейших и хорошо сохранившихся исторических подземных водохранилищ Константинополя, которое снабжало город питьевой водой во время осад или засухи. Наконец посетим Султанский Дворец Топкапы –сказочная резиденция османских султанов и центр власти Османской империи с 15 по 19 века, состоящий из множества павильонов, гарема и выставочных залов, где выставлено множество редких коллекций дворцовой сокровищницы, бесценная коллекция древних рукописей и священных реликвий. Мы, конечно же, посетим гарем и окунемся в мир тайн и интриг самого закрытого места этого дворца и на этом мы закончим нашу экскурсию на тот день.
На следующий день вас ждет очень насыщенная интересная программа. Утром мы посетим Дворец Долмабахче –истинный шедевр турецкого Ренессанса который служил резиденцией для последних Османских султанов. Дворец поражает своей роскошью и помпезностью. Предметы интерьера дворца представляют уникальную коллекцию ручной работы собранные из всех стран мира. Затем от пристани Кабаташ отправимся на увлекательную морскую прогулку на прогулочном кораблике по Босфору и насладимся видами его живописных берегов.
После морской прогулки по Босфору, на подземном фуникулере мы доберёмся до площади Таксим и оттуда начнем нашу приятную прогулку по самой оживленной улице города, Истикляль. Это самая знаменитая, все время многолюдная улица города. Во время нашей прогулки, мы насладимся блеском её магазинов и галерей, загляним в его дворы, пройдем сквозь скрытые пассажи, побродим по лабиринту боковых улочек.
Мы пройдем улицу Истикляль до конца и двинемся дальше вниз в район Галата. Район до сих пор очаровывает туристов своим колоритом. Мы поднимемся на Галатскую Башню чтобы насладиться изумительной панорамой старого города и бухты Золотой Рог. Оттуда мы спустимся к Галатскому мосту, пройдем через него наслаждаясь панорамой старого города. Наконец завершим нашу экскурсию посещением Египетского Рынка.
